The Amenta Mixing New Album
Not BrisbaneAnonymous writes "Australia's extreme industrial metal collective THE AMENTA will enter The Vault Studios in Sydney, Australia this week to mix its latest release, "n0n", with longtime engineer Lachlan Mitchell (NAZXUL). Mastering for the album will take place at Studios 301 with Australia's premier mastering engineer Steve Smart.

THE AMENTA describes the new album's sound as a fusion of extreme metal, electronic noise and dub. The follow-up to 2004's "Occasus" will feature 12 tracks in total, including "Skin", "Rape", "Cancer", "Whore", "Dystrophy", "Atrophy", "Slave", "Vermin", "Dirt", "Spine", and "Junky". With each song featuring over 100 actual recorded tracks, THE AMENTA's new album pushes technology to its absolute limits.

The recording of the album spanned three different countries and seven different studios. "n0n" contains a myriad of different contributors and performers with no less than two drummers, six vocalists and two bass players recording on the album which features guest appearances from Jason Mendonca (AKERCOCKE), Alice Daquet (SIR ALICE), Alex Pope (RUINS) and more."

Tours: Judas Priest Tour
PRIEST FEAST 2008

“METAL GODS”
JUDAS PRIEST TOUR AUSTRALIA WITH ORIGINAL LINE UP
ROB HALFORD – VOCALS
GLENN TIPTON – GUITAR
K.K. DOWNING – GUITAR
IAN HILL - BASS
SCOTT TRAVIS – DRUMS
AND SPECIAL GUESTS CAVALERA CONSPIRACY

The original lineup of Judas Priest head to Australia for the first time ever for the Priest Feast 2008 tour.
One of the world’s definitive heavy metal bands, who have sold more than 35 million albums world wide, will bring their mammoth Priest Feast 2008 tour to Australian fans in September.

Tickets go on sale on Friday 13th June!
Judas Priest are a seminal and vital part of rock history.  Since 1974, they have been one of heavy metal’s most successful bands, issuing such all-time classic albums as 1980’s ‘British Steel,’ 1982’s ‘Screaming for Vengeance,’ and 1990’s ‘Painkiller,’ and such arena-rocking anthems as “Breaking the Law,” “Living After Midnight,” and “You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’.” However, Priest’s influence goes far beyond their music - they were the first metal band to embrace the ‘leather biker look,’ a fashion that has since become synonymous with the musical genre. Additionally, Halford’s powerful four-and-a-half octave vocal range and the twin guitar harmonies of Downing and Tipton have been ‘studied’ by countless metal bands in Priest’s wake.
The Priest Feast tour will showcase their hugely impressive legacy as well as new tracks from their forthcoming album Nostradamus, which will be released by Sony BMG on 14 June, 2008.

The new album is a metal opera based on the life and predictions of Nostradamus.  Long in the works, Nostradamus takes epic storytelling to a whole new level, as it recounts the life of this mysterious, world-known 16th Century French prophet. Some of the events that Nostradamus experts have interpreted as his predictions include the great fire of London in 1666, the rise of Adolf Hitler, and most recently, 9-11, among countless other renowned events.

Lead vocalist Rob Halford left Judas Priest in 1993 and after almost 12 years apart and ever-growing demand for a reunion, Judas Priest and Halford announced they would reunite in 2003. They did a live concert tour in Europe in 2004 and were special guests at the 2004 Ozzfest, being named as the ‘premier act’ by almost all US media coverage of the event.

In 2006 they were the inaugural inductees into the “VH1 Rock Honors” and MTV.com named Judas Priest the second most important band in heavy metal.
Judas Priest will be joined in Australia by special international guests:
Cavalera Conspiracy, Sepultura’s Max and Iggor reunited!
Now it’s Australia’s turn to rock with the “Metal Gods” Judas Priest!

Limb from Limb interview
Band InterviewsRecently Faith caught up with Sacha from Limb from Limb to have a chat about the band and the upcoming gigs.

Finally what we have all been waiting for....to have ourselves crushed and annihilated by the punishing sound of Limb From Limb, for the first time on June 28 at Brutalfest II. Before they tingle my insides with glee at in my opinion, one of the best line up's this year, I got to catch up with Sacha, one of the guitarists..

Sacha, very excited we finally see Limb From Limb LIVE! What made you guys choose Brutalfest II for your gigging debut? Who did Scotto sleep with to get you guys on his line-up?

The timing was right, that’s pretty well why. We have spent a while working on the lineup, especially the drums. Finally we sorted that out and were offered a slot at Brutalfest. We were keen and took a gamble on it - our drummer Simon had only a few weeks with us before we committed to the gig which was only a couple of months away. So without putting any pressure on him, its his first show with us, he has to duplicate the task of John Sankey’s drumming and it’s the first show for LIMB FROM LIMB. That has to be taken into consideration as well…No one slept with Scotto though, think he’s still a virgin! He did comment at the first Brutalfest that next time he wanted LIMB FROM LIMB on the bill. Didn’t think too much of it at the time as we only had 3 members, no drums and only 1 guitar.

Why has it taken so long for LFL to do a live gig?

Originally we didn’t intend on doing shows. The idea was the opposite - To have a product that we could be proud of without the dramas associated with gigging in what really is a poor metal scene. Trying to get good gigs with a decent turnout can be depressing when you drive a couple of hours to play to a handful of people and loose money from doing so. Its not all about the money, but it does contribute to it. On top of that, and really for the same reason, we didn’t have a line-up.

Was the recent line up change with newcomers Simon Goudcamp on drums and Will Magnusson on guitars, spurred by the need for a live set?

Basically. This has worked out to be a great lineup for us. John was without doubt awesome on drums, but it was rather inconvenient for us to consider gigging with a drummer who is based in LA! Simon is doing a great job and we are really looking forward to his contribution to our live debut. We are also proud to have Will with us. Brad was (and still is) a great guitarist. But LIMB is more functional with myself and Will living as close as we do.

How are the new recordings going and when can we anticipate to get our hands on it? Are you guys planning another full length or EP?

Could be a full length or an EP. An Ep is in demo format but we’ll see what arises from here. I’ve written the EP, but the band as a whole does have material to contribute. Don’t expect anything too soon, although it may come earlier than expected. LIMB was never meant to be rushed…it will probably come when you least expect it.

What can we expect from the new shit and has it been influenced a lot with the new members?

You can expect more LIMB FROM LIMB. Don’t expect the same thing we already released. It will have similarities. Id hope our fans will hear LIMB in it, but without expecting it to sound the same as RIP HIM FROM HIS FUCKING THRONE. Its different. But don’t expect it to be soft.

Will we hear some of your new abominations at Brutalfest II or all the shit we've been waiting to hear for.... forever?

You can wait longer to hear new shit. In the mean time you can hear what you have waited for…

How long a set will it be? The whole of Rip Him From His Fucking Throne? Please?

You will have to wait and see…you might get lucky….

What are Limb From Limb's inspirations to produce such a hatred filled, brutal fucking sound? I can't even describe the intensity of the album.....it is beyond words really....

It began as a studio band between Brent and myself, the idea being that we wouldn’t have to deal with other people and their ideas – we would create what we wanted and keep it pure. As for specific inspirations, couldn’t tell you. This is just the way we write.

Who are you guys looking forward to seeing at Brutalfest II?

Everyone. All the other bands on the line up, all the members of other bands we have been associated with over the years and all those who have anticipated seeing LIMB live!

Can we expect to see more gigs from you guys now?

Probably a few, then we may sink into the underground again for a while whilst fresh material develops. Although we have stepped away from our original intent to not gig, we will not be gigging all the time. So if you want to see LIMB FROM LIMB, don’t assume that we will be playing again in a couple of weeks.

What do you guys think has contributed to the success of Limb From Limb, considering you have gained fans from here and internationally, yet have not played any gigs?

I think the standard of our music is the prime factor, self-promotion the second and of cause the Internet as well. We spent a lot of time fine tuning every aspect of the band before we promoted and then we went all the way with it. If you take the time to make your music right (or any other form of art or expression), you are bound to get at least a few who appreciate you for what you are. We are lucky to have a greater appreciation than some other less fortunate bands…

Will you guys be bringing a lot of merch to Brutalfest II? I know a Limb From Limb shirt is surely going to bring my sex factor up by a kabillion....you got to help me out here.....I'm sure a Limb From Limb shirt does more wonders than Carson Kressley...ya know that gay guy who makes fat chicks look hot?

There will be merch. Carson has just bout us out of XXXXL shirts for that reason. So unfortunately we will only have XXXL sizes and smaller left. There will be at leased shirts and CD’s, maybe more. But I cannot guarantee how much we will have. So if you see something you want it would be a good idea to get in early. Shirts can be made to order if you miss out. Check our myspace for order information

www.myspace.com/brutalozzydeath

How will Limb From Limb cope with the groupies and man-love at brutalfest II? Will sweaty jock straps thrown on the stage just make you play even harder?

If we don’t play harder, we would be getting harder, especially Nad. Don’t get him too aroused though…things could get very messy!

Well, CANNOT FUCKING WAIT to see you guys live and I'm sure many will agree with me. Any last words you'd like to throw in Sacha?

No need for last words.

CHEERS!

Thanks for taking the time to speak to us minions.....

Anytime
